The Other Heart

Based on the song 'Kadhal Seidhal Paavam' from the movie 'Mounam Pesiyadhae' (Tamil) and thanks to Phaedrus for his efforts....

Realm of taunting tiny episodes;

(You) Sewed my heart with thorns,

Into my eyes of deft swordplay;

I was bruised (by you) wondering;

If falling again in love was a farce?

So it’ll be – Loneliness my sad paramour!

Passing clouds I felt of love;

Monsoon deluge (you) presented self,

The (my) decision to drench and drown;

Left sun burnt involving strange denial,

I, existence was a mere language;

Your presence, I, a refreshing poetry.

When reality seems inseparable with you;

(you) Disappeared into a fickle dream,

Restrained from thought, (I) smile of wailing;

Shackled from pride, (I) bounded away from suicide.

A lone traveler of immortality;

(your) Persisting shadow stalled my questions,

A seeker I switched for truth;

You descended as an angel of life,

Showered with me the love of (your) words;

And when that love sneaked in me;

(I) Professed, perpetuated, beseeched;

Alas, never knew that you existed in another heart!
